Biorecro Presents BECCS Project Development at Eurogas in Brussels

On November 4th, Eurogas held its 3rd annual Eurogas Tech Conference in Brussels to highlight the potential for BECCS, CCS, and hydrogen in decarbonization.

Project Manager Adam Grachek was invited to represent the Biorecro team, and shared our global strategy and work in scaling carbon removal with Bioenergy with Carbon Capture & Storage (BECCS) on the panel Decarbonization in Action: Bioenergy and Hydrogen for CCS.

The panel discussed BECCS’s role as a primary negative emission technology capable of decarbonizing critical sectors on the path to net zero. We at Biorecro were able to provide our perspective as a third party developer, partnering with biogenic CO2 emitters to launch and develop BECCS initiatives that valorize their already existing untapped CO2.

By developing these projects with partners in Pulp & Paper, Combined Heat & Power, and biogas facilities, Biorecro is able to scale BECCS carbon removal to meet necessary carbon targets as mandated by the IPCC.

Eurogas is an association representing the European gas industry, primarily focused on promoting the role of gas in Europe’s energy mix and its potential to support the energy transition to a low-carbon future. Founded in 1990, Eurogas works with stakeholders, including policymakers, energy companies, and other industry groups, to advocate for sustainable and efficient energy solutions that leverage natural gas, hydrogen, and renewable gases.

Eurogas aims to support the EU’s climate and energy goals, including decarbonization targets, by advancing technologies like bioenergy, BECCS, and hydrogen.
